Not allowed.

What was supposed to be a nice week has turned into something else.  Of course I’m sick.  I think I’ve caught whatever flu the husband had last week.  Of course, there’s no “sick days” for mom.  Thank goodness the other two can take care of themselves.  How does one manage to take care of a 15 month old when sick?  Well, telling myself  “I’m not allowed to be sick” didn’t work.

Where is mommy's sanity? I mean, Where is Baby??

Reading to her.  Lots and lots of reading.  Mei has brought me Where is Baby’s Belly Button? at least 40 times today.  You’d think she’d be sick of it by now, but that’s not the nature of babies.  Repetition and lots of it.  I actually don’t mind, I love reading to her.  And she’s totally cute when I read it.  She does a little dance.  She shakes her hands.  She grins the entire time.  And when I’m done, she takes the book, and reads it through herself, speaking in her own baby babble language.

If it’s not Where is Baby’s Belly Button?, it’s Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.  One I know by heart, which is great since I don’t even need to look at the book after we’ve read it five times.  Of course I read to her normally, but today it felt like a record, as I really didn’t want to move.  Being sick sucks.

At least I got to enjoy last night’s premier of Game of Thrones.  It was a great episode.  First episodes, in my opinion, are always slow.  This one wasn’t, it was a nice blend of setting up the story and a bit of action.  Already looking forward to Sunday.

If I go MIA for a few days, it’s because being sick kicked my butt.  I hope that doesn’t happen.
